A lightly-colored sparkling rose with a fine, seductively delicate perlage, evoking memories of rose & Renetta apples. On the palate it is crisp sunshine with a hint of lemon.

Peaches, mangoes, raspberries and white flowers all present themselves on the nose with more peach and tangerine on the palate.

Taste tart apple, soft citrus, bright acidity mixed with peanut shell undertones in a subtle mix of flavors that is beautiful dry and crisp.

Like Sauvignon Blanc with apricot replacing the grapefruit.  The wine smells fresh & ripe with notes of white peach, apricot & crushed herb.  It is creamy in texture & loaded with juicy apricot fruit, grassy herb & a hint of lychee.

Pale pink with bluish reflections. Many small red fruits (blackcurrants, redcurrants, wild strawberries) & Peach Melba. Citrus notes show at the finish. The mouthfeel is crisp, mineral, and then avidly fruity.

Totally zesty swirls of ripe citrus sweep up green pear and melon notes as they rise from the glass and flow across the palate. This Grunner has verve and liveliness.

Blend: 53% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Carignan, 8% Marselan, 3% Mourvedre, 1% Cinsaul.   Fresh red fruits & raspberry coulis with hints of soft spices. Beautiful volume, notes of jammy fruits…   Elegant blend.

Red cherries, strawberries, pomegranate, with notes of roses, pepper, lavender, some cola.  Suave with crisp acidity & velvety tannins. Lots of fruit but an airy, more restrained feel.  Bright & feisty!

A Rhône style blend of 64% Syrah, 23% Grenache, 7% Petite Sirah, & 6% Viognier. Beautiful blackberry fruit, herbs & underbrush all give  way to a medium to full-bodied, plump, textured beauty that shines for its charm & style.

Bold, fresh cranberries & raspberries float on your palate, brought back to earth by gentle nutmeg, clove & just a hint of forest floor.  These grapes spent their days basking in the central coast sunlight.

What a discovery! A fruit forward warming Syrah made from BIODYNAMICALLY grown grapes.  Really pretty flavors of licorice, tobacco, black cherry and super smooth tannins really make this wine sing.

Ruby-red colour with purple highlights. This wine has whiffs  of plum and morel cherries.  It has a rich, smooth lingering taste.  Brings to mind sunny, Italian hillside picnics.

Using the expertise of two great winemaking dynasties – Bordeaux’s Château Lafite & Argentina’s Nicolás Catena.  A superb, barrel aged wine with sleek tannins; chocolate, tobacco & berry fruit. Those who know….know.

Layers of red currant, black fruits & cassis notes. Folds of creamy oak, fresh herb & anise seed emerge with air. The palate is full bodied & seamless, with polished tannins finishing long. This is classy Cabernet.

Ripe black plum, toasted oak & delicate spice lead the way in this wine. The firm palate offers a delicate blend of Blackberry jam, vanilla & licorice. A wine of superb structure & density.

Purple/black in color with a fragrant nose of pain grille, scorched earth, lavender, incense, & blackberry. Dense & concentrated on the palate, it has layers of fruit, succulent flavors, a lengthy finish & a dusting of modernity.

 

MONTE ZOVO, VALPOLICELLA RIPASSO, ITALY, 2015                                                                                       12 / 48

Ripasso is all the rage these days. This one is full of cherry, herbs & cranberry integrated with spicy pepper. Rich & lush it is made from classic Veronese grapes, “ripassato” over Amarone pomace to lend body & concentration.
